Why Choose Our Scar Therapy?

  • Qualified physiotherapist with over 10 years’ experience
  • Trained by the ‘scar queen’ Hannah Poulton of HLP Therapy
  • C-section, surgery, and oncology scars treated
  • Advanced tech: Lymphatouch & Winback Hi-TENS – These specialist machines support scar recovery by reducing swelling, softening tight tissue, and improving circulation.
  • The Lymphatouch – The negative pressure and mechanical vibration of the LymphaTouch® device can effectively soften fibrotic and scar tissue adhesions, improving tissue elasticity, flexibility and range of motion.
  • LymphaTouch® treatment promotes oxygenation and lymphatic drainage of the treated area, contributing to healing. The LymphaTouch® offers an effective and comfortable way to treat both fresh and older scars.

Winback Hi-Tens TECAR (Transfer of Energy Capacitive and Resistive) therapy employs a high-frequency current to re-polarise the cellular membranes and stimulate the body’s self-healing process. This revolutionary approach is increasingly being used for scar tissue massage due to its remarkable therapeutic outcomes.

When tissues suffer an injury, the body’s natural polarity gets disturbed. TECAR therapy aims to restore this balance by increasing cellular metabolism, thereby accelerating the healing process.

Benefits of Winback Hi-Tens R-SHOCK for Scar Treatment

    Our Approach

At Physiotherapy Torbay, every scar therapy session is grounded in evidence-based care, gentle techniques, and advanced technology designed to support healing at every stage.

Manual Therapy: Hands-on treatment helps release restrictions in the scar tissue, improve mobility, and reduce discomfort. Each session is tailored to your scar type—whether from C-section, surgery, or injury.

Massage Techniques: We use targeted massage to support your body’s natural lymphatic drainage, reducing swelling, improving circulation, and aiding the breakdown of tight scar tissue.

Lymphatouch Technology: The Lymphatouch machine uses gentle, negative pressure (suction) to stimulate lymph flow and soften scar adhesions. This non-invasive technique enhances tissue elasticity and can significantly reduce pain and tightness—especially in post-surgical scars like C-sections or oncology-related areas.

Winback Hi-TENS R-SHOCK Stimulation: The Winback Hi-TENS device combines high-frequency radio waves with traditional electrotherapy to accelerate healing deep within the tissue. It improves blood flow, reduces inflammation, and eases chronic pain, making it ideal for complex or long-standing scars, pelvic pain, and women’s health concerns.

                Q. Does scar therapy hurt?

                A. Treatment is typically gentle and adapted to your sensitivity level. Most clients find it relaxing.

                Q. When should I start scar therapy?

                A. We can work on scars from around 6 weeks post-surgery or injury (depending on healing).

                Q. Can you treat old scars?

                A. Yes. Scars are ideally treated in the first two years as the scar is not yet mature however improvements can be made even years after the injury or surgery.

                Q. What results can I expect?

                A. Reduced tightness and pain, increased mobility and improved scar appearance. Each case is different and we offer honest, realistic advice.
