Why Women’s Health Physio Matters
Over 1 in 3 women in the UK experience urinary incontinence, up to 1 in 2 may have some degree of prolapse and 1 in 3 postpartum women still have a diastasis recti 12 months after giving birth as just a few examples. 1 in 10 have endometriosis (although true prevalence is hard to determine due to diagnostic challenges). Sadly, many feel too embarrassed to ask for help, believe their symptoms are simply something they have to live with or even worse, feel like they are not listened to or not even believed. The truth is, with the right support, education, gentle guidance and tailored exercises, these concerns can often be resolved, managed and greatly improved.
Sarah provides compassionate, confidential, and professional care to address a wide range of conditions, including:
✓ Pelvic floor dysfunction (prolapse, urinary or faecal incontinence, changes due to menopause)
✓ Pelvic pain and help to manage conditions such as endometriosis and bladder pain syndrome
✓ Painful sex
✓ Gynaecological surgery pre hab
✓ Post-gynaecological surgery recovery
✓ Pregnancy-related issues, including pelvic girdle pain
✓ Postnatal recovery, such as diastasis recti, C-section scar treatment, and guidance on safely returning to exercise
✓ Menopause pelvic health, a lot of pelvic health issues rear their head at around this time due to the drop in oestrogen, causing tissue changes and atrophy. Getting an assessment, advice and education on how to prevent or greatly reduce the impact of these issues will improve quality of life outcomes peri and post menopause – extended service coming 2026
✓ Wellbeing and health of girls, looking after you from your first period and the importance of maintaining a love for movement and support for the female cyclical body in sports and general fitness – coming 2026
